If you are a believer, there are things that you are going through right now that might seem overwhelming. Storms and tests come and last for only a season, however when you're the one in the midst of the trial, it can seem like forever. Can I get a witness? You get to see firsthand what you yourself are made of in times of crisis. You can go to school, hear and read the textbook for yourself, but Hands on training is the best teacher. It not a real experience, or locked under your belt until you get to dissect a frog for yourself. It’s not really a true experience for you until you perform your first operation. Thats when all the hours of reading, hearing, studying come together to vividly and tangibly show what you've taken in.
The disciples spending numerous hours with the Master himself, came to recognize that they were still babes when the tempest arose upon the waters as Jesus slept. "Master care ye not that we perish” was the question at hand, and it became obvious to one and all that in spite of the time and hours spent eating at the Masters feet, very little sank in or rubbed off. They knew the word of God, they walked and talked with the King of Kings, Yet when the test came to show how much they had learned, retained, and applied, their actions didn’t line up with what or where they should have been. The word tells us to study to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman need not be ashamed rightly dividing the Word of truth/ God. As eagles, we can ride and coast while there is a good wind and air pocket holding us up, but when the wind subsides, you will have to fly or plummet. Talk is just that until you are able to back it up through your actions. Thats why the Word of God admonishes us not to be hearers of the word, but more so be doers of the Word. So when the storms of life start coming against you, you are able to stand and have peace in the midst of the storm.
How are you fairing today? Do you have Peace in the midst of your storm? Is your heart fixed and your mind made up? As the winds intensify, as the waves widen their rage, where do you stand. Are you able to speak to your storm and say Peace be Still, or do you cry out, Master Care ye not that I perish? Only you can answer that question for yourselves. Sometime our reaction to an attack, disappointment, or crisis is a surprise to us. We think we will respond one way, and ta-da we go a different route completely. We are in a constant battle with an adversary that is very cunning and formidable. However, thanks be to our God who gives us the victory and who causes us to triumph.
Father God in the name of Jesus, I thank you for this trial and test that is before me at this moment. Thank you for keeping me, thank you for guiding me, thank you for being a present help in times of trouble. Thank you for allowing me to see where I am, thank you for showing me those things within that aren’t pleasing to you, or that don’t bring you glory. Thank you for my joy, for weeping endures for a night and joy comes in the morning. You are my strength, you are my life and I praise you in Jesus Name.
