I find it insulting to try and have a conversation with someone who is preoccupied with something or someone else. You can't give someone your undivided attention that way. That is simply being rude and insensitive to the person to whom you started a conversation with, or the person who tried to have a conversation with you. It also says that what might have been said wasn't deemed that important to give your full attention to. Would you agree?
Well If so, how often do we do that to the Lord? We start a conversation or prayer, or we start to read His Word, and then our cell phone goes off, the baby cries, someone needs our attention or something or someone comes to distract us from continuing what we started. The Word of God tells us that satan comes to kill steal and destroy. Killing opportunities for us to commune, Stealing opportunities to know the Lord more intimately, & sometimes for some destroying the opportunity to have a relationship with God at all. That is satans objective, but satan can only initiate the distraction (that's his job) we choose whether we get caught up in it or not. The Word of God says I lay before you Life and Death, Choose Life. We are living an open book test daily and we are responsible and accountable for the choices we make, and that which is entrusted to us TIME once its gone, we cant get it back. The Lord so desires to have a relationship with us. How Rude we are to Our Lord of Lords and King of Kings at times. Lord Have Mercy on us, for we so easily allow the cares of this world to distract and divert our attention away from you when all we have is because of you. Forgive us for taking our relationship for granted.
